Sixty Plus - Song and Dance Men of the Silver Screen: Gene Kelly
Presentation by Bonnie Weiss - Theater Educator, Writer, Radio and Cabaret Producer
Gene Kelly took dance out of the ballrooms and into the streets. He traded the top hat and tails of Fred Astaire of his own signature socks and loafers. His athlectic and exuberant dance style graced a number of films - but he was also a film innovator, choreographer and a director.
His most beloved role was in the 1952 film "Singin' in the Rain"
The meeting will be held in the Cesar Chavez Student Center on the SF State Main Campus
Lower Level - Rosa Parks Room
Meetings begin at 1:00 with a business meeting which is followed by the program at approximately 1:15 p.m.
Following the presentation is a short social time.
