Brown Bag Lecture: Golden Thread Productions

Iranian playwright Torange Yeghiazarian, founder of the first American theater company to focus on the Middle East, will talk about how Golden Thread Productions has become a vibrant catalyst for passionate and provocative productions about this region’s multiple perspectives and identities. Torange will also tell about upcoming “Oh My Sweet Land,” a one-woman show about Syria, and the ReOrient Festival of Short Plays. The Golden Thread Theater (at 1695 18th St, #C101) is celebrating its 20th-year anniversary.
A director, producer and playwright, Torange has written about contemporary Iranian theater for The Drama Review, 2012; American Theatre Magazine, 2010; and Theatre Bay Area Magazine, 2010. Her plays include “Isfahan Blues,” “444 Days,” “The Fifth String” and “Call me Mehdi.”
