OLLI Hikers: Three Bakery walk

Wednesday, November 16, 2016 - 10:00 to 12:30

Walk leader: Sara Seims

This walk will include  French, Irish and Russian bakeries.  It will kick off at the excellent Arsicault Bakery (French) that was recently voted by Bon Appetit magazine as the best small bakery in the entire USA! There is always a line and it is recommended that you arrive there by 9.30 a.m. to make sure that you have time to sample the fare and use the restroom.  From ArsicaultBakery we will  head up Arguello in to the Presidio and walk there for about two miles or so exiting in Central Richmond and heading over to our second stop, John Campbell’s Irish Bakery. We will pass many interesting Russian and Asian shops along the way.  From John Campbells we will visit a gorgeous Russian Orthodox Church at Geary and 26th Avenue. After that we will walk through Richmond to Golden Gate Park and explore some interesting pathways before heading towards our final stop, the Cinderella Bakery and Café. The Cinderella offers wonderful Russian lunches as well as baked goods.
