Saxophonist Sonya Jason and keyboardist Michael Hatfield

When: June 27, 2016 - 1:00pm

Sixty Plus at SF State has invited our members to enjoy this performance and mixer with them. Saxophonist Sonya Jason and keyboardist Michael Hatfield join together to delight audiences with their lively renditions of favorite jazz standards. Even when the musicians are improvising, the melody isn't far away from the likes of Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Sonya Jason graduated summa cum laude from the acclaimed Berklee College of Music in Boston and is a winner of ASCAP’s Popular Music Award in Composition. She has released three CDs as a solo artist (available for purchase) and contributed her saxophone sound to more than three dozen recordings. Michael Hatfield is one of the most versatile musicians in the Bay Area. After attending the Berklee School of Music, he made the Bay Area his home. He is a keyboardist, vibraphonist and vocalist; he leads several Bay Area bands as well as teaching.
