Brown Bag  - An introduction to Mathematical Games and Puzzles
Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 1:00 – 2.30pm

We will examine and play a number of (non-gambling) games that are easy to learn and challenging to solve. In each game one of the players can force a win or each player can guarantee (at least?) a draw. The discussion is designed for those who enjoy games like chess, checkers, dots and boxes, or even tic tac toe.  Professor Brown, a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society, is the winner of a national award for his research, and holds a named professorship for his teaching.

Space is limited to 25.  Sign up by rsvping to http://www.eventbrite.com/e/olli-brown-bag-an-introduction-to-mathematical-games-and-puzzles-tickets-10826758125
