SF Adventures: Lunch & The GLBT Museum

When: February 12, 2019 - 12:00pm to 2:00pm

12 noon - Lunch at The Cove Restaurant at 434 Castro St. (between Market & 18th Sts),

1 PM - GLBT Museum Tour

We will be continuing a tradition of bimonthly lunches at the Cove Restaurant at 434 Castro St. (between Market & 18th Sts), where a small group of OLLI students have met with former OLLI instructor Max Kirkeberg for lunch an a monthly basis for years. Max and his husband, Gabe, are moving to Portland, but the lunches continue.   http://www.covesf.com/Menu__2.html

We will then walk two blocks to the GLBT Museum at 18th St.  (Between Castro & Collingwood Sts.) for a private docent tour.   It's the first full-scale, stand-alone museum of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender history and culture in the United States. At 1,600 square feet, the museum, while small, packs a powerful punch, celebrating the city’s vast queer past through dynamic and surprising exhibitions and programming.

No reservations needed – just show up at 12 noon for the no host lunch at the Cove Restaurant and then the 1pm $3 docent tour of the GLBT Museum. . . or . . . join us for either lunch at noon or the museum tour at 1 PM.

Thanks for Barbera Janney for organizing this OLLI Adventure
